What is inventor?
Autodesk Inventor is a CAD, or Computer Aided Design, software that we use at the high school to design products. The software allows you to make a 2D sketch and then extrude it to a 3D form. This is very helpful in the industry because it allows you to see what you are going to make before you see the final product.
How to make a Widget
Step 1: Make a isometric sketch on paper based off to the part.
Step 2: Make a sketch of the main body based off of your isometric sketch.
Step 3: Extrude Sketch 1 inch
Step 4: Create an offset work plane -.375 inches from the face
Step 5: Create a sketch on the work plane of the angled piece
Step 6: Extrude the sketch .25 inches
Step 7: You are done!

Summary
This project was pretty basic but interesting for me. I learned inventor in 7th grade, so that software wasn't new to me. I did enjoy learning the Makerbot software because I hadn't used that software before. It was a challenge to try to figure why my print failed, but in the end it worked out. Overall, I enjoyed the project
